Mixing is possibly the most important part of the audio post production process. To achieve an accurate mix that translates well to

other environments such as a cinema, the process needs to be carried out in a room that is as acoustically neutral as possible.

To this end, our control room is fitted out with the best acoustic treatment in the business – RealTraps.

The video below shows why acoustic treatment is the key:

As an example of what might need to be done during a mix, we recently worked on a film that involved the following:

● Gating including extensive automation of parameters

● Cleanup of noisy and faint location recordings

● Composition of a custom ambient track

● Replacement of some audio events with clearer sounds from our library

● A small amount of foley work

● A small amount of compression in one area

● Equalisation

● Comprehensive volume automation to ensure everything sat at the right level throughout the piece

Our mixing
work is done on a Pro Tools 8 system with an extensive array of Universal Audio plug-ins.
We also have a selection of outboard gear including the
TC Electronic M3000 which has an extensive array of film and post programs.
